Manual Lymphatic
Drainage (MLD)
This specialised massage treatment is for people affected by primary and secondary lymphoedema. My background as a nurse has given me a lot of insight into how lymphoedema affects people's daily life and what a huge impact this chronic condition can have on people's mobility, independence, and even the way they see themselves and their bodies.

My training took place with the Lymphoedema Training Academy, an international, multi award winning education provider. The Academy developed the 'Fill and Flush' technique, a specific massage technique to help move the lymph from the affected area and manage symptoms. The aim of treatment is to reduce swelling and manage symptoms, but also to help teach massage techniques for self-care in conjunction with prescribed bandaging and limb garments.

For secondary lymphoedema, a course of 10 treatments over two weeks is normally recommended with advice on aftercare and self-treatment provided. Primary lymphoedema may require more infrequent appointments or even a short course to assist with decongestion. My therapy will complement the treatment you are already receiving through the NHS. Consultation is key to creating best treatment programme for each person.

90 minute initial appointment including consultation and massage therapy - £70
A bespoke and individualised treatment plan will be created at this initial session and further appointments will be arranged with me directly.
Payment plan- I appreciate that MLD can carry a significant cost, especially as treatment may require an intense approach, for instance 10 appointments over two weeks. Please don't let finances held you back from improving your condition. I am happy to discuss payment plans on an individual basis. If your lymphoedema has been caused by cancer trestment you may be eligible to apply for a Macmillan Grant. Please contact me to discuss further.
