Scar Massage
Scar tissue can cause complications long after surgery or injury. Many people have scars due to surgery for cancer, cesarean sections, orthopaedic surgery and burns and there are a huge number of long lasting side effects such as pain, numbness, itching or tight skin and muscle tissue which can impact how you move.

My specialist skills were taught by Restore Scar Therapy, and I have learnt techniques that may improve pain and itching, reduce sensitivity, stimulate numb tissue and skin healing, improve range and ease of movement as well supporting emotional wellbeing, which may help individuals accept their scars. I am a specialist C-section scar therapist
Cesarean Section Massage
Many women now have a c-section but feel completely unsupported afterwards in how to look after their scar or what impact it might have on their lives. Scar tissue forms around your C section scar making it feel tight which might restrict your movement and cause pain. The scar can feel itchy or numb. Some women develop a pouch above their scar which they dislike the look of and some find it hard to look at or touch their scar, especially if they have experienced birth trauma.
C-section massage is gentle and can feel very relaxing. It promotes circulation and skin healing, improves movement and can nurture self care, encouraging you to care for yourself with kindness.
Treatment can start 8 weeks after your C-section but women may benefit even decades after their C-section
Scar Massage Therapy
Massage can help to reduce the symptoms of pain and itching on and around a scar, whether the scar is new or old. The techniques I use are gentle and can increase blood flow, reduce swelling, improve the mobility of the scar, reduce pain, improve numbness and help to restore your emotional connection with your body and the scar, as often these have come about following a traumatic event.
